Teachers use a lot of their own money to purchase materials for their classrooms. Most of the time, this investment is not reimbursed by the school or school board. The Educator Expense Deduction available for teachers in their tax returns is limited to $250 a year (as of 2016).
The purpose of this blog site is to provide an avenue for teachers to publicly post their needs so that the community at large can help them provide as many opportunities for their students as possible.
Each blog post will feature the wishlist for one teacher. These teachers have made us aware of their classroom needs and provided us with information validating their identities as teachers in need. Where permitted we have presented additional information about the teachers, their classes, and where they are located.
